How To Pin Applications To Windows Taskbar

To add a shortcut to the taskbar on your Windows computer, follow these simple steps:


Method 1: From the Start Menu


1. Open the Start Menu: 


Click on the Windows icon in the bottom left corner of your screen.

2. Find the Application: 


Scroll through the list of applications or type the name in the search bar.

3. Right-click the Application: 


Once you locate the application you want to pin to the taskbar, right-click on it.


4. Select "Pin to taskbar": 


From the context menu that appears, click on "Pin to taskbar."


Method 2: From the Desktop


1. Locate the Shortcut: 

Find the shortcut of the application on your desktop.


2. Right-click the Shortcut: 

Right-click on the shortcut icon. Select "show more options"


3. Choose "Pin to taskbar": 

Select the option "Pin to taskbar" from the menu.


Method 3: Using File Explorer


1. Open File Explorer: You can do this by clicking on the folder icon in your taskbar.

2. Navigate to the Application: Go to the location of the application’s executable file.

3. Right-click the Executable: Once you find the .exe file, right-click on it.

4. Select "Pin to taskbar": Click on "Pin to taskbar" from the options.



Tips


- Rearranging Icons: You can rearrange the pinned icons by clicking and dragging them to your desired position on the taskbar.

- Unpinning: To remove a shortcut from the taskbar, right-click on the icon and select "Unpin from taskbar."
